The Ordre des Architectes du Québec (OAQ) announced the winners of its 30th Excellence in Architecture Awards during a gala event held on April 5th at the Société des Arts Technologiques in Montreal. A Soft dB client, Premier Tech in Rivière-du-Loup, received the Award of Excellence in the Administrative Buildings category for its newly completed Olympe building. Born from the need to house hundreds of workers quickly on the Premier Tech global headquarters campus, the project was intended to showcase this innovative company in constant evolution and expansion.

The building, which totals 6,408 square metres, stands out for its outstanding architecture and the quality of its interior spaces, which focus on the importance of the comfort and well-being of its users. The interior layout has been carefully and rigorously designed to provide the 425 users with diversified, bright, spacious and stimulating environments, thus encouraging their creativity. The functional efficiency of the project is increased, in particular, through the integration of new trends in spatial planning and ergonomics.

We are proud to point out that our smartSMS-NET sound masking system is an integral part of the Olympe building, ensuring the acoustic comfort of Premier Tech employees across its open-plan offices spread out over three floors. For Soft dB, this was a major sound masking project featuring real-time adaptive adjustment of masking volume based on ambient noise levels. Moreover, our sound masking network covers a surface area of 32,000 square feet using 126 loudspeakers, all perfectly integrated into the clean and bright workspaces of the Olympe building.
